We have been learning this week about sentences. We have looked at what makes a sentence and different sentence types. This video explains a range of sentence structures.

The Curse of the Kumera and Pumpkin

When I was at home yesterday, I had the most disgusting dinner ever. It smelt like vomit.

I was outside and a smell struck right into my mouth. Oh no! I think it is our dinner cooking. 

As I opened the door in the dining room, the smell got stronger and stronger. Then I sat down in the dining room.

My mum slopped a big plate of kumera and pumpkin. I slowly put it right in to my mouth. Finally I ate it. 

I felt something weird coming out of my mouth. I vomited right onto my mums floor. Eww!

Inquiry

Today for inquiry, we looked at open and closed questions. 

Open question are questions with multiple correct answers or answers that are not wrong.

Example: Why do you like to teach?

Closed questions are questions with a definite correct answer, either a single answer or set of answers. 

Example: What day is your birthday?

Writing

The smell dived under my door and my mum called me to dinner.

Inquiry - Good Sports

We started our inquiry today - Good Sports. Our big question is, “Why do it?” 

We are going to find out about different sports, what is needed to become a successful sportsperson and how to carry these attributes sport people have into everyday life.

Week three  – Due Friday 21^st February

Write a story, titled, “The funniest time of my life.”	Reading for at least 10   minutes a night.	Basic facts practice.
Fold the washing at least 2 times this week. Take a picture of you doing it.	Sports/Music practice.	Write a letter to someone
Spelling	Carry out an act of kindness	Create an Avatar of yourself. See the class Blog for how to do this!

Homework Task

Check out Paityn's Bird house that she made for her homework task which was to build something with wood and nails. She also did some delicious baking that she shared with the whole class. Keep up the great work, Paityn!

Art

Hi everyone. Just to let you know we are nearly finished our prints that we are making in art. They will be up here as soon as they are finished.

OLOL Feast day

What a fantastic day we had today! We went to mass today at 10:00 to celebrate OLOL Feast day. After morning tea, we has some water sport activities. We got to play in the pool, slip and slide on the water slide and bounce around on the blow up obstacle course along with other great activities.
